Get Stoked About the Kolas and Wide Open Walls Collab!

In other news, we are OUT OF OUR MINDS excited that a Wide Open Walls muralist will be creating a work of art on one of our newest dispensary walls!!!
As you may already know, we’ve been getting ready to open our newest Kolas dispensary on J Street. We are stoked to finally bring quality cannabis goods to Midtown and we want to make this dispensary as awesome as possible! That’s why it was a no brainer to reach out to the incredible Mario Martinez (also known as MARS-1) to paint one of his incredible murals on our humble dispensary wall!
Mario Martinez (aka MARS-1) is a masterful painter, creating imaginative compositions of varying depths and compelling shapes that are both geometric and organic. His use of color and texture is both inspiring and surreal.
The themes in his art explore both the scientific and the esoteric. His otherworldly universes hypnotize and mesmerize anyone lucky enough to view his masterpieces. We are so excited to watch what he creates for Kolas! Stay posted on our social media to see the progress!
And we couldn’t have done this all without help from the Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association!
To get our wall ready, members of the Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association (SCIA) [https://saccannabis.org/], including the president, Robert Baca, came out to show support and to help out by priming our wall in preparation for Mario Martinez’s exciting arrival into his newest public canvas.
Without help from the Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association, this would have been a difficult feat. We’re so grateful to them for their help with priming the wall and for everything they’ve helped with ever since we became a member of the association.
The Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association was created to unite the cannabis industry in the City of Sacramento for a chance to speak with one united voice at the local level. This is an invaluable resource for those of us that wish to be heard, represented, and protected as a cannabis business (which, let’s be real, is everyone in the industry).
Their mission provides a united voice for small businesses, protects local jobs and the economy created and supported by the cannabis industry, and educates the public on the benefits of the cannabis industry in their communities. We couldn’t be more proud of our membership with an association that does so much for the industry we operate within.
The Sacramento Cannabis Industry Assocation’s commitment to bettering and revitalizing the Sacramento community not only shows with their words, but with their actions. Their #CannabisCARES Homeless Initiative offers opportunities to cannabis businesses to provide relief to homeless communities by benefitting the Downtown Streets Team, an organization that directly helps homeless communities by providing work experience programs that acts as a stepping stone into employment, housing, and a better life.
You may have noticed the Cannabis Cares stickers on our own products in-store. Every time a customer purchases a Cannabis Cares product knowing that a portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Downtown Streets Team, the smile on their face says it all. Watching humans excited about helping other humans is what it’s all about for us! And we couldn’t be more grateful to the Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association for our membership and opportunities to do things like this that better the community.
And since we can’t stop talking about how important for us it is that we better the community, here’s some more stuff we have to get off our chest.
What bringing more public street art to Sacramento really means for us…
Access to art and culture should not be exclusive. It shouldn’t be a privilege. We believe that art is for everyone, which is why we are very much in support of the Wide Open Walls movement and festival.
In the same way that we believe that art should be accessible to everyone, we believe the same for cannabis. Every adult should have equal access to the plant that has helped so many people around the world.
Art and cannabis have been coupled together since the first paintbrush ever touched a piece of paper. Since the first joint was ever sparked. And we’re honored to carry on the tradition of blending cannabis and art seamlessly in a city that cares about both.
Sacramento is our home, and we couldn’t be happier to provide the city with the highest quality cannabis around. We are so excited to open up our location on J Street and to reveal the beautiful artwork that will adorn it. Big things are happening, Sacramento! Will we see you there?
Stay updated on our progress by signing up for email newsletters! And as a plus, you never know when you’ll be receiving an exclusive promotion or discount to Kolas and the other dispensaries in Sacramento that are powered by Kolas…
